Barbara ArmstrongVice President of Planning
Barbara brings over 40 years of experience working with clients to integrate organizational culture and business strategy. She combines a proven track record in operations management with a passion for engaging high performance and interdisciplinary teams to achieve their strategic planning goals. With her capabilities as a successful project manager in the private sector and her experiences as a leader of multiple not-for-profit boards, she works with clients to analyze current situations and to develop systematic and structured approach to problem identification and resolution. She is committed to creatively engaging stakeholders in the process of developing their strategic vision and advancing the strategies to ensure effective change.
Her most recent professional engagement, Barbara was the Dean of the School of Arts and Design and the School of Business at Mount Mary University combining her knowledge of business and perspective on the value of design thinking in problem solving tool for academia. As a partner with the design firm Kahler Slater, she led teams assisting clients with their brand identity, their talent strategies and physical environment. She was a contributor to the Leadership channel of Forbes.com providing thought provoking articles on design as a business imperative. She holds a master’s degree in architecture from UW-Milwaukee and a bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University. She has served as chair of the boards of Professional Dimensions, WUWM Public Radio, Future Milwaukee, and the Professional Dimensions Charitable Fund and has been an active member of diverse boards in the arts, social services, and professional societies. |
